(SACRAMENTO) – Today, Senator Monique Limón (D-Santa Barbara), Chair of the Senate Democratic Caucus, issued the following statement on the second anniversary of the Supreme Court's ruling on Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organization, which overturned Roe v. Wade:

“It has been two years since millions of women across the country lost access to essential reproductive care with the overturning of Roe v Wade. In 2024, it is a sad reality that women seeking reproductive care today have fewer options than the previous generations before them.




(SACRAMENTO) – Senator Monique Limón, Chair of the Senate Select Committee on the Nonprofit Sector, will honor Women’s Economic Ventures (WEV) as her 2024 California Nonprofit of the Year at the Nonprofit of the Year Luncheon on June 5th in Sacramento.  




Senator Monique Limón issued the following statement on the passage of SB 1036 in the Senate Appropriations Committee. This legislation establishes False Advertising Standards on the voluntary carbon offsets market. 

“I am grateful that my legislation to set clear standards on the voluntary carbon offsets market has passed out of the Senate Appropriations Committee. The evidence is piling up that enforceable standards must be in place to restore confidence in these products. 




(SACRAMENTO) - On Tuesday, Senator Monique Limón introduced SB 1101 to proactively assist in mitigating damage from wildfire through beneficial fire and the restoration of the natural conditions of our forests and grazing lands. 




(SACRAMENTO) - Senator Monique Limón on Tuesday reintroduced first-in-the-nation legislation to rein in the carbon offsets market which has raked in billions from purchasers looking to offset their greenhouse gas emissions. 




(Ventura) - Senator Monique Limón, alongside Assemblymember Bennett, presented $1,500,000 in State Budget Funding to the Rubicon Theatre Company for needed building renovations such as accessibility access, kitchen repairs, and equipment upgrades. This is the second investment in live performing arts that Senator Limón secured in the 2023 -2024 State Budget. 




(SANTA BARBARA) - Senator Monique Limón, alongside Assemblymember Hart, presented $500,000 to support Heal the Ocean’s Summerland Oil Mitigation Study (SOMS) to ensure we have accurate and consistent mapping of oil seeps & leaks along the central coast. While this important work began this summer, this marks the first State Budget funding this project will receive. 




(VENTURA) - Senator Monique Limón presented a $1 million state investment to develop the Teen Center at Saticoy Park, alongside Assemblymember Bennett and representatives from the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Ventura County. This funding will go towards the improvements needed to design and construct an addition to the Saticoy Boys and Girls Club facility.
