As this year comes to a close, I want to take a moment to say thank you to everyone who has played a part in our legislative and district successes. Thanks to your support, feedback, and advocacy, I had 11 of my policies signed into law, with over two-thirds garnering bipartisan support throughout the legislative process. These policies help to improve the lives of Californians, strengthen worker protections, and safeguard our environment. Royal Theatre Groundbreaking

Last month, I had the opportunity to attend the groundbreaking ceremony of the historic Royal Theatre project in Guadalupe! In 2022, it was my honor to champion funding for this project to help bring the arts and economic momentum back to the downtown area. I look forward to coming back soon to catch a show. Season of Giving Blood Drive

Thank you to everyone who attended our annual Season of Giving Blood Drive. A single donation of blood can help save up to three people. This includes accident victims, cancer patients, surgery patients, and those with chronic illnesses. If you or someone you know would like to donate, please visit here.

Ventura Agriculture Tour

I was honored to join Speaker of the Assembly Robert Rivas for a tour of a local avocado farm right here in SD 21. It was an impactful meeting with our farmers to learn more about issues impacting harvest season, workers, and prices. It is critical that we work together to support our farmworkers to ensure this vital industry can continue to feed the state and our nation. Hear more about our visit here.

Paralympics Coming to Train at UCSB

Have you heard? UC Santa Barbara is partnering with Paralympics Great Britain for the 2028 LA Paralympic Games in Los Angeles. They chose UCSB for their training camp for its proximity to LA and the accessibility of the campus. Happy to have you in SD 21!

Spirit of HOPE Award

Thank you to HOPE Latinas for the incredible honor of being the Spirit of HOPE Award Recipient for 2025. This award is built on the past visionaries who paved the way and the many leaders to come. Thank you for this award and your partnership in getting SB 702 across the finish line after 5 years of consistent work. This policy will undoubtedly expand access to public service on our state Boards and Commissions for thousands.

This January, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Ventura County aims to recruit 100 Big Brothers as mentors. Programs like Big Brothers Big Sisters of Ventura County provide needed support that helps youth succeed in school, develop healthy social skills, and navigate life’s challenges with confidence. Tax Scams Webinar

As tax season approaches, it is important that you and your loved ones know what to look for to avoid tax scams. The Department of Financial Protection and Innovation is hosting a FREE webinar on January 7th at 1 pm to provide you with the needed knowledge to protect you and your loved ones.
