Have you received your CalKIDS Account? California’s low-income public school students and newborns have access to the CalKIDS children’s savings account program administered by the state’s ScholarShare Investment Board.
CalKIDS provides up to $1,500 to nearly 4 million low-income public school students, as well as each child born in the state on or after July 1, 2022. Learn more, HERE.
NAMI Family to Family Program
NAMI Family-to-Family is a free, 8-session educational program for family, significant others and friends of people with mental health conditions. It is a designated evidenced-based program that can provide participants with the problem-solving skills necessary when interacting with a person facing a mental health condition.
NAMI Family-to-Family is taught by NAMI-trained family members who have experience in these situations, and includes presentations, discussions and interactive exercises.
Horror in the Stacks
The EP Foster Library in Ventura County is hosting 👻📚 Horror in the Stacks 📚👻 on October 12 @ 7:30 pm.
Are you brave enough to explore the dark corners of the library after hours? This event is free and open to youth, grades 5 - 12. Children 4th grade or younger must be accompanied by an adult.
Día de los Muertos inspired Art Activities & Student and Community Altar Display
For the 34th year, the Santa Barbara Museum of Art honors the Mexican tradition of remembering the dead with a display of altars created by students participating in the Museum’s school and outreach programs and local community groups. Día de los Muertos inspired art activities for all ages will be offered on the Front Terrace and in the Family Resource Center.
All are welcome to join with Latinx Indigenous community members in a procession down State Street from SBMA to the Museum of Contemporary Art Santa Barbara (MCASB). Full event details, here.
