#ConLimón In the District
U.S. Latina GDP Report at Oxnard College
Team Limón had the opportunity to attend the inaugural U.S. Latina GDP report at Oxnard College! It was great to hear about the vital role Latinas play in our economy, communities, and country.
Team Limón was also able to celebrate the 2025 Santa Barbara County Teacher of the Year, Laura Branch from Ernest Righetti High School as well as Marc DeBernardi the California Agriculture Educator of the Year. I am proud to have these two educators in our district and help to put them on a path to future success. Congratulations!
Black Women’s Health Equity Conference
Congratulations to Lawanda Lyons Pruitt of the Santa Maria/Lompoc NAACP and Connie Alexander of the Santa Barbara NAACP for hosting a successful, second annual Black Women’s Health Equity Conference. Ensuring women have access to critical care that supports their mental health is so important and we are grateful for your continued leadership in this space.
UCSB Ballot Bowl
Team Limón celebrated UCSB Gauchos Vote Coalition winning the Secretary of State Ballot Bowl competition with the Secretary of State Dr. Shirley Weber. The University of California and College Ballot Bowl is a friendly competition where higher education campuses compete to register the most students to vote and showcase civic engagement efforts. Thank you for ensuring students are aware of the importance of civic involvement.
