Senator Limón Issues Statement on the Mountain Fire

Sen. Limon tours the Mountain Fire

(SANTA BARBARA) – Today, Senator Monique Limón issued the following statement on the current status of the Mountain Fire.

“On Wednesday our communities in Camarillo and Somis faced the start of a devastating wildfire. Countless residents have been evacuated, and many more are under evacuation warnings as the fire continues to grow. If you are in the evacuation warnings zones, please stay apprised of new developments as this situation is changing rapidly. Please help our firefighters and heed all warnings and mandatory evacuations.

I am thankful for the coordinated efforts and mutual aid we are seeing on the ground, working to protect our community from the Mountain Fire. I am also grateful that Governor Newsom has declared a State of Emergency, providing additional resources to communities impacted by the Mountain Fire.

My thoughts are with all those impacted and my sincerest gratitude goes out to all of our first responders who are risking their lives to protect our community. Once again, I urge all residents to sign up for VC Alerts and stay up to date on the development of the fire at the VC Emergency website.”
