Pro Tem Limón’s Statement On CA Supreme Court Ruling Regarding Ballot Seizure

SANTA BARBARA – Today, California State Senate Leader Monique Limón released the following statement in response to the California Supreme Court’s ruling on Cervantes v Bianco. The ruling states that Sheriff Bianco did not have the authority to seize more than half a million ballots.

Today’s ruling is a win for democracy. No one has the right to tamper with our elections.   

California has and will continue to defend our democratic processes, whether that is through the courts or state laws. I am proud that this year, legislators came together to further protect our free and fair elections by ensuring every eligible voter can cast their ballot free from intimidation or fear.
