Senior Scam Event

Thank you to everyone who joined me and Assemblymember Bennett for the Senior Scam Stoppers event in Ventura. Scams are a fast-growing form of financial abuse that especially targets seniors and adults with disabilities. TRiO Student Support Services

In May, Team Limón attended the graduation ceremony for Oxnard College’s TRiO Student Support Services program. The TRiO SSS program provides critical academic, career, and personal support services to help students graduate and transfer to four-year universities. Congratulations to the class of 2025 graduates and best wishes on your academic journeys.

Santa Paula PD Memorial

Team Limón joined the community in honoring all officers who have lost their lives in the line of duty at the Santa Paula Police Memorial Event. My heart goes out to all families impacted by the loss of their loved ones and my sincerest gratitude for their service and sacrifice.

MMIP Memorial Event

May 5th is known nationally as Red Dress Day, a National Day of Awareness for Missing and Murdered Indigenous People (MMIP). On this day, Team Limon was able to attend the Red Dress Awareness Exhibit at Bell Arts Factory in Ventura. Red Dress Day is an important reminder that we must raise awareness about the violence so many Indigenous people face in California and across the country.

SUN Bucks The SUN Bucks program is back. This food program provides families with financial assistance through the summer months when children do not have access to school meals. Most children who qualify for free or reduced-price school meals through a school meal application or Universal Benefits Application, or get CalFresh, CalWORKs, and/or Medi-Cal, are automatically enrolled. Some children may need to sign up so check your eligibility and learn more about the program by clicking here.

Goleta Child Care Grant Program The Santa Barbara Foundation and the City of Goleta have launched the Goleta Child Care Grant Program. Applicants must be a licensed nonprofit child care provider and be based in the City of Goleta. The grant program will offer awards of up to $15,000 each, to providers focused on: Child Care Workforce Development Sustainable Business Models Family Engagement Leadership in Child Care Applications can be submitted until June 30, 2025.
