🍋New episode of Tea con Limón is OUT NOW! 🍋
Last month, Senators awaited action from the Governor on their year of legislative priorities. The Legislature worked hard to put bills on the Governor’s desk that combat healthcare cuts from H.R.1, strengthen guardrails for artificial intelligence, and protect our homes from wildfire destruction.

September 11 Remembrance Ceremony at R.J. Frank Middle School
Community members at R.J. Frank Middle School honored the lives of Ann Judge, Asia Cottom, Sara Clark, Bernard Brown, Hilda Taylor, James Debeuneure, Joseph Ferguson, and Rodney Dickens at the 9/11 memorial this past month. These Oxnard students and teachers were traveling to Washington, D.C., for a National Geographic educational expedition on American Airlines flight 77. Unfortunately, the flight was hijacked before hitting the Pentagon on September 11, 2001. Oxnard continues to keep their memory and their families in our thoughts.

Ventura State of the City
We attended the annual State of the City in Ventura, where officials shared key information about the budget outlook, City Council priorities, and the success of local business. This year, Ventura chose the theme “rooted in service,” with coastal resilience and water-supply investments as examples of meaningful local service. Mayor Jeanette Sanchez Palacios also chose new priorities for the year: climate leadership, economic development, homelessness, infrastructure, and public safety. This event helps keep the community informed while also uplifting the work of city departments and key partners.

Tour of Magnuson Superchargers in Ventura
Team Limón got an inside look at the Magnuson superchargers, produced in Ventura and shipped worldwide. These superchargers are intended to add more power to the car engine for activities like towing, construction, and long-distance trips. This Central Coast-made product boosts our local economy and continues to shape the future of the auto industry.

Town Hall for Wildfire Preparedness
Ventura County hosted a town hall on wildfire preparedness and home hardening as we near the end of wildfire season. Residents were also provided with the latest safety resources to make sure our communities know how to respond in case of an emergency. Thank you to the Office of Assemblymember Steve Bennett and Supervisor Matt LaVere for organizing this event and keeping our community informed.

Oxnard Fiestas Patrias Parade
The Oxnard community came together to celebrate Mexican independence during the Fiesta Patrias Parade. Food, drinks, and art were set up for residents to learn more about Mexican culture while enjoying the parade. This year, the festivities honored migrant agricultural workers and their contributions to California.
