Ventura Land Trust Film Festival
Last month, the Ventura Land Trust’s Wild & Scenic Film Festival brought out a huge crowd. The Film Festival is Ventura Land Trust's largest annual event to raise awareness of their work to protect and conserve Ventura County's open spaces.
State Infrastructure Investment
In case you missed it, SBCAG hosted a check presentation for the final $134 million needed to finish the Santa Barbara U.S. Multimodal Corridor through the City of Santa Barbara. I am proud that the state doubled the community investment to bring necessary highway improvements to our region. This is the largest SB1 investment in the state, and I am grateful that the Central Coast will have the opportunity to benefit from reduced traffic congestion and improved roadway safety.

Great news! The State of California is investing $28 million in Ventura County to create 88 permanent supportive housing units for individuals experiencing homelessness. This investment connects individuals with housing and provides them with critical resources to support their mental and physical well-being. Learn more here.

Candlelight Vigil for World Suicide Prevention Day
Please join HopeNet of Carpinteria for the annual candlelight vigil in honor of World Suicide Prevention Day. Despite suicide being the third leading cause of death among 15-29 year olds, suicide continues to be referred to as a “silent killer.” As we come together to raise the voices and memories of those no longer with us, let us also remember to connect with our loved ones and friends to remind them they are not alone.
