Statement on ICE’s Aggressive Tactics against a US Citizen

(SANTA BARBARA) Senator Monique Limón released the following statement regarding an incident that occurred in Oxnard, resulting in a traffic collision and the subsequent arrest of a United States citizen by ICE agents. 

“My office has been made aware of a concerning incident in which Immigration and Customs Enforcement used aggressive, and dangerous tactics that resulted in a traffic collision and the detainment of a US citizen.

Thankfully, he has since been released, but our community is shaken and continues to live in fear of what could happen next. These actions create more distrust and fear in our communities.

This incident must be investigated and our community’s right to due process must be enforced.”
