Senate President pro Tempore Monique Limón Has Taken the Oath of Office as the leader of the California State Senate

(SANTA BARBARA) – Today, Senator Monique Limón began her role as the 50th President pro Tempore of the California State Senate. A formal swearing-in ceremony will take place on January 5, 2026, in Sacramento. Senate Leader Limón released the following statement: 

“I am proud to assume the role of President pro Tempore of the California State Senate at this critical time in our state and the nation’s history. I look forward to working alongside my colleagues to move California forward and address the issues impacting the almost 40 million people who call this state home.”
