Arts and Entertainment
Arts and Entertainment make significant contributions to the culture, history and economic prosperity of the 21st Senate District. Here are some resources:
The California Arts Council, a state agency, has the mission to advance California through the arts and creativity with an emphasis on children and artistically underserved communities.
The Entertainment Industry Foundation harnesses the collective power of the entertainment industry and channels its unique assets to raise awareness and funds for critical health, educational and social issues in order to make a positive impact in our community and throughout the nation. Annually, the Entertainment Industry Foundation funds more than 300 charitable organizations within the greater Los Angeles area and throughout the nation.
North Hollywood (NoHo)Arts District
is home to California’s largest concentration of performing arts theaters. With more than 20 award-winning theaters producing adventurous new works and classics; a variety of music recording venues and professional dance studios; as well as diverse art galleries, public art, annual festivals, international dining options, and a myriad of clothing and specialty shops, NoHo is a one-stop arts and entertainment destination.
The California Film Commission enhances California’s position as the premier location for all motion picture and television production. The CFC is a one-stop shop for filmmakers, issuing permits for filming on state-owned and operated property and offering filmmakers assistance in California. By working with production companies from start to finish, the CFC facilitates all aspects of the filmmaking process. The CFC works with communities and all levels of government to ease barriers that might discourage filming in California.
