Day of the Teacher
May 9, 2012 marks the 30th anniversary of California's Day of the Teacher. This year's theme is: "Great Teachers: Building a Better State for Public Education." Rebecca Mieliwocki, an English teacher at Luther Burbank Middle School in Burbank, was named by President Barack Obama as the 2012 National Teacher of the Year .
